What is CMMC?

The Department of Defense (DoD) now considers information security as fundamental to its procurement process as cost, schedule, and performance. CMMC enhances the existing Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) by introducing a verification element to strengthen the protection of Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and federal contract information (FCI) throughout the supply chain.

The CMMC Framework requires a systematic approach to certification mapped to three organizational maturity levels: Foundational, Advanced, and Expert.
